Cities around the world are facing growing societal challenges. Meanwhile, two third or more of the population of most countries live in urban areas and many cities will grow, in the next 5 – 10 years. The demand on transport & mobility, energy, and other public services will require cities to react by improving their infrastructures making them more efficient and responsive to citizen's needs. At the same time, mobile access and the Internet of Things has emerged in the city leafing to a large number of ICT-based components deployed in the city infrastructures.
This conference will provide insight into needs & barriers to make cities even smarter. The issues of open urban platforms, integrated urban planning & operation will be addressed both by representatives of cities and industry.
